Video: Google Translate vs. Fresh Prince [1/17]

Fun — 17 January 2013

Innnnn West Philadelphia, born and raised…

You’re finishing the song in your head right now, aren’t you?

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a show that most of our generation knew and loved (correction – still loving it!) Most of us know all the words to the song, love Will Smith because of it, and some of us are even lucky enough to know how to perfectly imitate the Carlton dance (Tom Jones, anyone?) So what happens when you take a song that is so beloved by so many of us and run it through Google Translate? What happens when you change song lyrics from American English to all 64 languages in Google Translate, and then translate it back? Well, Youtuber collectivecadenza (or CDZA) made it happen, and apparently it doesn’t make any sense.

The numbers stayed the same though, if that’s any consolation. Plus, it’s hilarious. Check out the video below!

Wondering what other songs would be funny if put through Google Translate? Tell us your ideas in the comments below!
