Video: What Brought Us Together in 2012 [1/4]

World — 04 January 2013

Okay, okay, we get it! No more reminiscing about 2012 after today. You’re ready to move on to a new year and we’re still shoving last year in your face, reminding you of the past. We promise, just one more day of 2012 and next week we will move on with the rest of the world. We couldn’t resist this video from YouTuber Jean-Louis Nguyen called “2012: What Brought Us Together.” It’s basically a 6 minute mashup of all of the hard times we endured around the world, like the Sandy Hook massacre, bullying-related suicides, and the abduction of children by Joseph Kony, followed by all of the most incredible, awe-inspiring, hopeful things that happened last year. Included are moments from the Olympics, moments of triumph by people who endured hardships, handicaps, and tragedy, the trends in pop culture that marked the year, a lot of sweet proposals and romantic moments, and a truly adorable baby elephant. We can’t think of a better way to pay tribute to 2012 or a more uplifting way to start 2013. Check out the video below. We dare you not to get a little emotional (you’ll lose!)
